Cabin Fever
One of the many challenges this winter has brought us is a bad case of Classroom Cabin Fever! We are tackling this problem by renewing our commitment to "fill" each other's buckets (encourage) instead of "dipping" from each other's buckets (discourage).

Here are some amazing examples I have noticed recently:
Next week we are going to have "Peace Week" in hopes of practicing our courage (and reducing our tattling)!

Enrichments!
Thursday, March 20, is Enrichment time at Discovery! Staff and community members lead a variety of different classes and activities. All activities have a service learning or community learning focus.
A PINK sheet will come home TODAY. Students will use that sheet to select their first, second, and third choices for activities.
Parent help is always needed, so please consider coming to help that morning. A background check must be completed and on file, but there is still time to complete one. (Call Sharon in the office for more info. 682-8400)

Sharing
The students have fallen into a routine of sharing that is different than in years past. They are mostly interested in reading their homework books, not their written stories. (Of course they can still do that if they would like.)
So, each child will have one day a week when they get to read a book (or writing) to the class. The schedule will be the same each week. IF we have a vacation day or (Please NO) another snow day, we will squeeze them in on another day that week.
Mondays:
Henry B
Maren
Finn
Henry G
Tuesdays:
Kris
Waylon
Teagan
Garett
Wednesdays:
Karson
Jackson
Myia
Peighton
Thursdays:
Kalah
Mitch
Kenzie
Lauren
Fridays:
Gabriel
Preston
Thor

CHEERFUL Award!
This month's (February) 5C was Cheerful. We encourage Discovery students to be cheerful about their friends and learning and thankful for all the blessings we have here at Discovery!
The recipient of this months 5C Award was Karson Kramber. He sets a good example of how to overcome disappointments and keep a positive spin on friendships and events in the classroom!
(Karson is in the Pikachu outfit!)
